Description

Corydoras Pulcher, also known as the Pretty Cory, will eat most food that sinks to the bottom of the tank. Sinking algae pellets should be supplemented with flake food or other sinking foods like catfish pellets. These fish do have a carnivorous side and enjoy foods such as Bloodworm and Brine Shrimp. Vegetable-based foods will offer little nutrition to them. They will also eat any dead, dying, or injured fish if they sit on the substrate for too long.

They are most active at night, so are best fed in the evening although they can easily be persuaded to feed during the day.

Corydoras Pulcher prefer planted tanks with sand or small gravel substrate – sharp or large gravel can cause damage and adding salt to the tank will likely cause them harm.

They like to be with their own so the more of them that you have, the more you will see them. They have the ability to tilt their eyes down to examine the substrate and are known to frequently gulp air. However, this is normal and not cause for concern as they hold the air in their stomach and the thin lining dissipates the oxygen.
