The Green Spotted Puffer is found in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Their tank should be spacious and furnished with plenty of caves and visual barriers, whilst still providing plenty of swimming space for these active fish.
If you are planning on keeping more than one Green Spotted Pufferfish, it is best to ensure that all fish are of the same size and that they are introduced simultaneously as newcomers to an established group are not usually welcomed.
This species grows to a good size and requires a spacious tank; if they are confined to a space that is too small, biting will occur amongst the group.
These fish can inflate when frightened or cornered but should never be provoked into doing so. High levels of oxygenation are advised and due to the messy feeding habits, powerful filtration should be used and a regular maintenance regime carried out.
