Description
The Garra Flavatra, Panda Garra, has beautiful markings and is well suited to mature tanks with vigorous water movement and high oxygen levels.
This species is relatively friendly, ideally kept in groups of five, or more.
Lighting within the aquarium can be bright to encourage algae growth, and the tank should incorporate soft sand or fine gravel substrate and include cobbles, smooth rocks and bogwood.
A critical point to note is that Garra flavatra is capable of climbing up the glass with ease, something they tend to do when newly imported or moved; therefore, be absolutely sure the tank has a tight-fitting cover and that there are no small gaps that the fish can crawl out of.
This species enjoys grazing on the micro-organisms found within algal growths in the aquarium, but be sure to offer plenty of small meaty foods along with a variety of sinking catfish pellets, wafers and granules.
