Boraras Brigittae

£2.50

A beautiful species with a pinkish body with an elongate dark band running from the shoulder almost to the base of the tail. A black spot lies at the base of the tail fin. Another black spot is present at the base of the anal fin. The fins have a reddish tinge. Full colouration is only developed in the right conditions: the tank must be shady, with peat-filtered water and a dark substrate. Under average aquarium conditions, this fish can seem rather unremarkable because the colours fade away.

Description

Lives in still and slow-flowing waters including ponds and swamps. Appreciates a thickly vegetated aquarium with plenty of shade. Filter the water through peat. Given its tiny adult size, this species is best kept either alone or with other very small species, such as Corydoras hastatus and Dario spp.
