The Auriglobus modestus, or Bronze Puffer requires plenty of hiding spots amongst rocky caves, driftwood, and dense, robust planting areas for the ideal tank set-up. Filtration should be efficient with calm resting spots out of the current and areas of moderate water movement available.

Description
The Auriglobus modestus, or Bronze Puffer, is an active and extremely aggressive species that will not tolerate any other fish within the confines of the same aquarium and sees anything that moves as food (including fingers!). For this reason, each individual must be maintained as a solitary specimen in a species-only tank.
It’s important to conduct regular partial water changes to help keep nitrate to a minimum. These fish are particularly sensitive to the build-up of pollutants.
Always add food from a height and exercise caution, rather than placing hands directly in the tank, at feeding time. Auriglobus modestus can inflate when frightened or cornered but should never be provoked into doing so. Important note: if the fish takes on air above water it can prove fatal so when moving this fish, it should be kept underwater throughout.
Regularly offer hard-shelled foods, in addition to meaty frozen foods.
