Description
Known only from the Rio Uaupés system in Brazil, Tucanoichthys Tucano (Toucan Tetra) have a gold upper body and head, a white belly, and a pink/blue hue to the lower gill. They will readily accept good quality dried foods such as granules, flakes and sinking pellets.
They are best maintained in a well-structured set-up, ideally comprising a sandy substrate plus some driftwood roots and branches. This species seems to do best under fairly dim lighting.
They are peaceful and friendly by nature, shoaling fish rather than schooling fish. Nano tanks or small planted aquariums will be perfect for this little Tetra.
