Monodactylus Sebae

Roughly circular body with very tall anal and dorsal fins that are covered in scales along the leading edges. The anal and dorsal fins are far taller than any other mono, giving this fish an appearance similar to that of a freshwater angelfish. There are four vertical bands on this fish, one through the eye, a second at the level of the pectoral fin, a third running from the tip of the dorsal to the end of the anal, and finally a short band through the base of the tail.

A schooling fish when small, but adults seem to be aggressive towards one another if kept in too-small groups. Has not been bred in aquaria.
